Do you believe in ghosts?

In the 19th century, people thought they had proved that ghosts existed by photographing them. But in fact, these were doctored photographs — fakes!

At the time, taking a photograph required a lot of equipment and a great deal of time. The exposure could be so long that sometimes someone would walk past while the photograph was being taken, causing them to appear like a ghost.

Some artists today continue to use photography and, thanks to their techniques, create strange effects in their images that can make it seem as though ghosts are present. But it’s still fake!
